Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the lifestyle, mindset, and character formation of the younger generation. Social media, short video platforms, and digital communication patterns have shaped a “scroll culture” that influences attention, spirituality, morality, and social relationships. In this context, Christian Religious Education (CRE) faces major challenges in guiding students to maintain Christian values amid the flood of digital information. This study aims to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education in shaping the character of the digital generation in the era of scrolling culture. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method based on library research by examining national and international literature related to digital culture, Christian education, spirituality, and character formation. The findings reveal that Christian Religious Education plays a strategic role as a moral guide, digital literacy educator, and spiritual mentor for young people. Christian educators are required not only to teach doctrine but also to become facilitators of spiritual formation in the digital space. Christian character values such as self-control, honesty, responsibility, love, and wisdom become essential foundations in responding to the challenges of the digital era. This article contributes conceptually by positioning Christian Religious Education as a transformative and contextual educational movement in shaping a faithful, critical, and ethical digital generation
